Rephrasy AI Humanizer Review (2026): Style Cloning and Plans
Rephrasy AI Humanizer review: style cloning, 2,000 words per run, a US$12.99 day pass and a lifetime deal. How its AI score panel works, refunds and picks.
Rephrasy is an AI humanizer and detector from a German company, made for students and professionals who want to humanize AI drafts in their own cloned writing style. You can try it free on up to 100 words, and paid use starts with a US$12.99 one-day pass or a Growth plan from US$99 a year.
Two things set Rephrasy apart in this Rephrasy AI humanizer review. The first is style cloning: you can teach it your own writing style and humanize in that voice. The second is the range of ways to pay, from a 24-hour Quick Pass to a one-time Lifetime deal.
What is Rephrasy?
Rephrasy is a web app for humanizing AI-generated text, with a built-in AI score panel, a plagiarism checker and an AI essay writer. Its Terms are governed by German law, and the provider details list a German VAT number and an address in Hungen, Hesse. Support runs by email at support@rephrasy.ai and through Crisp live chat on the site.
Around the humanizer, Rephrasy has grown into a small toolkit. There's a Chrome extension that works in Google Docs, Gmail and LinkedIn, plus iOS and Android apps. Developers get a humanizer API and an MCP option, so AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol can use Rephrasy's tools. There's also a Shopify AI Humanizer and a new SynthID detector. The site itself runs in 14 interface languages, from German, French and Spanish to Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Turkish, and Rephrasy says the humanizer supports more than 50.

Students first, web writers second
Rephrasy names three uses. Students humanize essays, research papers and dissertations. Content writers humanize articles for search, and marketers humanize posts for LinkedIn, X and Instagram. The site's headline calls it a humanizer for students, and the plans reflect that, with a one-day pass for a single deadline. The Chrome extension and the Shopify tool show the second audience: people who write for the web every day.
Is Rephrasy legit?
Yes. Rephrasy is a registered German business with a VAT number, published Terms of Service, a refund policy and paid plans. It supports customers by email and live chat.
Rephrasy's humanizer: models and your own writing style
The humanizer works in three steps. You paste text from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok or another model. You pick one of Rephrasy's humanizer models or a writing style you've cloned. Then you click Humanize, check the AI score and re-humanize for free if you want another version.
Cloning your writing style
Style cloning is Rephrasy's most interesting feature. You give it samples of your own writing, and it creates a custom style the humanizer can write in. Paid plans include a set number of custom styles: one on Growth, three on Business and ten on Professional. That's useful if you write in more than one register, such as a formal style for reports and a lighter one for posts.
A cloned style is only as good as the samples behind it, so use writing that sounds like you at your best. For researchers, the bigger benefit of humanizing is often clarity and voice, a point we make in why researchers humanize AI text.
Word limits
The free plan humanizes up to 100 words at a time. Paid plans allow up to 2,000 words per humanization and count a monthly number of humanizations, from 100 on Growth to 400 on Professional. A 6,000-word thesis chapter is three humanizations on a paid plan, while on the free plan it would take sixty separate 100-word runs. Paid plans also include free re-humanizing, so asking for a second version of a passage doesn't use up another humanization.
Is Rephrasy reliable?
Rephrasy says its output keeps your meaning and has no grammatical errors, and it lets paying users re-humanize for free when they don't like a result. That's a sensible safety net, but any humanizer can still change a name, a number or a technical term. Read each result against your original before you use it, and keep the original until you're sure the rewrite says the same thing.
Getting started
- Paste your text into the box, or load one of the sample texts labeled ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek or Human.
- Choose a humanizer model, or select a writing style you've cloned.
- Click "Check AI Score" if you want a reading before you change anything.
- Click "Humanize", then read the result against your original.
- Use the free re-humanize option on any passage you'd like to change again.
The AI score panel and other tools
What the AI score panel shows
Next to the humanizer, Rephrasy shows an "AI Detection likelihood" panel. It has entries for GPTZero, Originality AI, Copyleaks, Writer, ChatGPT Content Detector, GPTRadar, Winston AI, Content At Scale, Pangram, ZeroGPT, Crossplag and Sapling. The detail to notice is Rephrasy's own note under the box: the detector scores are based on fine-tuned models. In other words, the panel shows Rephrasy's own estimates of how those tools might score your text.
Real detectors also disagree with each other, so treat any estimate with care. If you want to know how two of the named tools behave, our posts on whether Copyleaks detects AI and Winston AI's accuracy cover what the data shows. Students worried about a Turnitin result in particular can start with our guide to lowering a Turnitin AI score responsibly.
Plagiarism checker and credits
Rephrasy's plagiarism checker runs on credits. The Quick Pass includes 20, and the Lifetime deal includes 2,400 credits for the plagiarism checker and the API. Rephrasy's Terms describe it as an alternative plagiarism service with no affiliation to Turnitin. If you're comparing plagiarism checkers in general, our guide to Turnitin alternatives for plagiarism checking covers the main options. Paid plans also include a few Extended Scans, which you request through support.
SynthID detector, apps and API
The new SynthID detector looks for Google's SynthID watermark, one of several text watermarking systems now in use. Our explainer on AI watermarking from OpenAI, Google and Claude explains how they differ. The Chrome extension humanizes or checks text on any page with one click, and the mobile apps bring the humanizer and detector to your phone. Business and Professional plans add API access, and Professional also includes the AI detector API.

Humanize with citations keptRephrasy pricing: day pass, subscriptions or lifetime
Rephrasy is free for up to 100 words at a time. Paid options include a one-day pass, three subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime deal. Rephrasy's prices on 2 October 2026:
| Plan | Price | Humanizations | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | US$0 | Up to 100 words at a time | Free AI score panel |
| Quick Pass | US$12.99 one time, for 24 hours | Unlimited for the day | Unlimited detector use, 20 plagiarism credits |
| Growth | US$18.99 a month, or US$99 a year | 100 a month, up to 2,000 words each | Chrome extension, 1 custom style |
| Business | US$25 a month, or US$120 a year | 200 a month, up to 2,000 words each | Humanizer API, 3 custom styles |
| Professional | US$39 a month, or US$220 a year | 400 a month, up to 2,000 words each | Humanizer and detector APIs, 10 custom styles |
| Lifetime | US$199 one time (listed down from US$300 as a limited-time offer) | Unlimited | Unlimited detector use, 2,400 credits for plagiarism checks and the API |
On yearly billing, Growth works out to US$8.25 a month, Business to US$10 and Professional to about US$18.33. The Quick Pass suits one deadline without a subscription. For a 5,000-word paper due tomorrow, US$12.99 covers a day of unlimited humanizing, against US$18.99 for a month of Growth. The Lifetime deal costs about two years of Growth on yearly billing, so it pays off only if you expect to keep using Rephrasy beyond that.
I'd start with the free 100-word limit, then choose Growth yearly for steady use. Business makes sense once you want the API or more than one cloned style.
What Rephrasy stores
Rephrasy's Terms say it stores humanized text, names and email addresses to identify users, and that data may be shared with third parties where needed to run the service. If you're humanizing anything sensitive, such as unpublished research or client material, keep that in mind before you paste it.
Rephrasy's refund rules
Rephrasy's Terms say refunds are possible under specific conditions, but credits you've used can't be refunded, and Lifetime deals are never refunded. Rephrasy points to its free version as the way to check the service before you pay, and it looks at other cases individually by email or Crisp chat. If you cancel a subscription, the humanizer drops back to the 100-word free limit, and any unused credits stay on your account.
Rephrasy AI Humanizer vs. ProofreaderPro Humanizer
Rephrasy is a general humanizer with style cloning and many ways to pay. ProofreaderPro.ai works on academic drafts, where the reference style and field terms have to survive the rewrite, and Academic Plus records every change.
| Feature | ProofreaderPro.ai | Rephrasy |
|---|---|---|
| Made for | Essays, theses and journal papers | Student essays, SEO content and social posts |
| Voice and style | Five modes and five intensity levels on Academic Plus | Humanizer models plus 1 to 10 cloned writing styles |
| Words per run | 500 on Academic, 1,000 on Academic Plus | 100 free, 2,000 on paid plans |
| Citations | Keeps APA, MLA, Chicago, IEEE and Turabian formats | General rewrite |
| Languages | 60+ on Academic Plus | More than 50, according to Rephrasy |
| Price | US$19 or US$29 a month (US$169 or US$259 a year) | US$12.99 a day, US$99 to US$220 a year, or US$199 lifetime |
Rephrasy gives you more words per run and cheaper yearly plans, and style cloning is a feature ProofreaderPro.ai doesn't offer. For academic work, the deciding factor is usually the reference list and the in-text citations. ProofreaderPro.ai keeps citations such as (García & Lee, 2024) in their APA format, and our APA citation guide shows the details that matter. On Academic Plus you can also freeze field terms and export tracked changes for your supervisor.

Cloned style or learned voice: Rephrasy and Walter Writes
Both tools try to make the rewrite sound like you. Walter Writes learns your voice from a writing sample before it rewrites. Rephrasy turns your samples into named custom styles that you choose for each job, with one to ten styles depending on the plan. If you write in one voice, either approach works. If you switch between registers, Rephrasy's multiple styles are the more flexible setup.
Rephrasy vs Undetectable AI
Undetectable AI is one of the best-known humanizer brands, with its own detector and a mature API. Rephrasy matches it on the API and adds style cloning, a Chrome extension, mobile apps, a 24-hour pass and a Lifetime deal. If you want a one-off option or to pay once, Rephrasy has more ways to buy. If you want one of the most established brands in the category, Undetectable AI is the usual comparison.
