ProofreaderPro.ai is an AI-powered proofreading platform created by academics to cater specifically to the needs of other academic writers. It helps researchers, postgraduate students, and professors refine their manuscripts by addressing key language issues. Additional features include tracked changes for easy review and the ability to export them into Microsoft Word. A built-in AI Text Humanizer also rewrites AI-assisted drafts so they read naturally and pass AI detectors such as Turnitin and GPTZero. It also provides multilingual text processing support, making it a reliable tool for international, non-English research. ProofreaderPro.ai is a comprehensive, user-friendly platform for streamlining manuscript proofreading, editing, and research solutions before publication or submission.
ProofreaderPro.ai is designed for researchers, academics, professors and postgraduate students who need to ensure that their manuscripts meet high academic standards. It is especially useful for those preparing research proposals, journal papers, theses, dissertations, or any other academic content.
Unlike general-purpose AI-enhanced proofreading tools, ProofreaderPro.ai is specifically optimized for academic writing. It uses advanced language models trained on datasets of scholarly texts to ensure that edits made fit the formal, academic tone and structure expected in research papers. ProofreaderPro.ai also includes a built-in AI humanizer that reduces AI detection scores without breaking citations or technical terminology, something general-purpose proofreading tools do not offer.
ProofreaderPro.ai is designed to handle a wide range of academic and professional documents. These include research papers, journal articles, theses, dissertations, conference papers, grant proposals, coursework assignments, book chapters, essays, and even personal statements. Whether you are refining academic work for submission, preparing a manuscript for publication, or polishing professional documents, ProofreaderPro.ai ensures they are well-written, error-free, and academically sound.
ProofreaderPro.ai supports a wide range of academic disciplines, including: STEM fields: Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science. Social Sciences: Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, and Economics. Humanities: History, Philosophy, Literature, Linguistics, and Art. Health and Medicine: Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacology, and Clinical Research. Business and Management: Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Organizational Studies. The tool is trained to handle highly technical and field-specific language across all disciplines.
ProofreaderPro.ai uses Generative AI, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and research-focused Small Language Models (SLMs), trained on extensive datasets of academic texts. These models recognize grammatical errors, suggest stylistic improvements, refine sentence structure to enhance clarity and coherence, and perform edits to improve overall readability.
Yes, ProofreaderPro.ai recognizes and preserves in-text citation formats without altering or removing them. It can also suggest formatting corrections to ensure your citations comply with standards such as APA, MLA, IEEE, Turabian and Chicago.
ProofreaderPro.ai focuses on proofreading and editing but does not include a built-in plagiarism checker. We are working on an integrated plagiarism checker that generates similarity index reports for uploaded documents.
Yes, ProofreaderPro.ai ensures a formal, academic tone while incorporating discipline-specific key terminology and academic jargon when applicable.
Yes, all edits made are tracked in ProofreaderPro.ai. Added text is displayed in green, while deleted text is shown in red with a strikethrough. You have the option to click on individual changes to accept or reject them, or you can highlight multiple changes and accept or reject them as a group. Additionally, you can use the Accept All or Reject All buttons in the top menu to apply changes across the entire document. All tracked changes made can be exported into Microsoft Word for further review and analysis. The AI Humanizer presents its rewrites the same way, so you can review every humanization edit before accepting it.
You are able to process a max of 1000 words at once for any of the available editing features. This includes both text pasted or text in file uploads. The AI Humanizer accepts up to 500 words per pass on the Academic plan and 1,000 words per pass on Academic Plus.
ProofreaderPro.ai corrects grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors, adjusts tone for academic formality, restructures sentences for clarity and coherence, enriches the text with scientific and technical terms relevant to the research area, and ensures adherence to academic conventions. Edits are performed while keeping your originality and authorship intact.
Yes, ProofreaderPro.ai offers adjustable proofreading levels: Light, Standard, and Comprehensive. The Proofreading and Editing Density slider provides flexibility, allowing you to control the intensity or 'density' of editing.
Light proofreading focuses on basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation corrections. Standard proofreading comprises grammar corrections and discipline-specific lexical refinement. Comprehensive editing offer in-depth revisions for grammar, clarity/conciseness, coherence/flow, sentence syntax and structure, academic wording and lexical refinement, and overall readability.
For optimal, high quality results, add only 500-600 words at a time. For larger text, simply highlight and proofread 500-600 words at a time.
In addition to proofreading and editing, ProofreaderPro.ai offers a variety of other functions to support academic writing. These include paraphrasing, which involves rewriting sentences or paragraphs to enhance clarity or change the structure without altering the original meaning; summarization, which condenses lengthy text into a concise summary while preserving key information; text expansion, which develops brief ideas into more detailed content; citations adjustment, ensuring proper citation formatting and consistency across different academic styles such as APA, MLA, and Chicago; tense conversion, which ensures consistency in the manuscript by converting text to different tenses; US/UK English format conversion, which switches between US and UK English spelling and conventions; language translation, which supports non-native English writers by translating content into over 60 languages; and AI text humanization, which rewrites AI-generated drafts to sound naturally human and reduce AI detection scores while keeping citations and terminology intact. These features, combined with the editing tools, make ProofreaderPro.ai a comprehensive platform for refining, enhancing, and formatting academic work.
Edit metrics refer to the data provided about the changes made to your document, including the Original Word Count, which is the number of words in the original text; Edited Word Count, which is the number of words after editing; Edit Percentage, which represents the proportion of the text changed during editing; and Edit Density, which refers to the number of modifications (edits) made per 100 words.
The AI Text Humanizer rewrites AI-assisted drafts so they read like natural human academic writing. It reduces your AI detection score with detectors such as Turnitin, GPTZero, and Originality.ai while preserving in-text citations, technical terms, and semantic entities. Every rewrite is shown as a tracked change you can review before accepting.
No. The humanizer is engineered for semantic faithfulness above 94%, and it preserves citations, author names, reported statistics, and field-specific terminology. You can also freeze up to 10 exact terms per pass, and the Diff view shows precisely what changed so nothing slips through unreviewed.
A slider offers five levels: Mild, Mild+, Balanced, Strong, and Aggressive. Lower levels keep the lightest touch and the highest readability, while higher levels rewrite more deeply for the strongest AI detection bypass. Balanced is the recommended starting point for most academic texts.
The humanizer is benchmarked on a 2,000-document academic corpus against university-grade AI detectors including Turnitin, GPTZero, Originality.ai, Copyleaks, Sapling, and Winston. The published pass-rate charts are on our Text Humanizer page.
The humanizer is included in both paid plans. Academic includes the Academic writing mode with up to 500 words per pass. Academic Plus unlocks all four writing modes (Academic, Corporate, Creative, and Blog/SEO), the intensity slider, multilingual humanization in 60+ languages, freeze terms, iterative re-humanization, and 1,000 words per pass.
AI-generated text has a recognizable style that readers can often spot without any tool: it reads generic and robotic, with uniform sentence lengths and the same overused vocabulary. Human writing is different. It is direct and active, with natural variation in rhythm and word choice. The humanizer's job is to move your text from the first style to the second, because that is what your academic readers, professors and journal reviewers actually prefer to read. University-grade AI detectors like Turnitin are the reliable metric to test whether your writing actually reads as human. Think of it like a benchmark to test for the 'humanness' of your text. When your text passes Turnitin, you have a guaranteed confirmation.
The humanizer engine was developed by NLP researchers and engineers at TextPulse, fine-tuned on our own dataset of peer-reviewed, human-written research papers. It is tailored to research-heavy writing: multilingual input, field-specific terminology, in-text citations, proper grammar, and a formal tone. We occasionally update it based on feedback from our users and the international research community, and these iterative refinements keep it an academic-first humanizer rather than a general-purpose tool trained on conversational blog and social media content.
To get started, simply go to the User Guide located in the main menu. There, you'll find step-by-step tutorials that will walk you through the process of using ProofreaderPro.ai to edit your academic writing.
